Quebec Prize Medal

A SYMBOL, A REPRESENTATION

This medal was created to evoke a sense of achievement and accomplishment for the winners. The logo that emerges is based on a circle that illustrates the union of forces within Quebec. The symbol in the center represents the par Tage of knowledge and the exchange of knowledge, bridging each of the other figures. The open book represents culture and literature. The fleur de lys, emblem of Quebec, underlines the feeling of belonging.

The last icon is an atom, which signifies science, research and study. A layer of reading has been added through the work of emptiness and fullness in the material itself. Moments of emptiness, waiting, searching, wavering and error are part of any artistic or scientific journey, and they have a large part in contributing to the concept of success. Discovery or inspiration can often come from the void.

The deposit of a gold trace on the surface of the medal represents the mark left in time by the laureate for Quebec.
